Rosebank |
From the Pilot . Welcome onboard Dirty Dog Sunglasses making sidecar racing even cooler. Have had our last meeting of the season on Sunday (N.Is.) at Rosebank and meeting #3 for the new machine .(we’ll wipe from memory Gisbourne 12th ). Thanks to Aukland Speedway Riders Club for the event and good to see the turnout of sidecars and solo’s for the event. It looked to us that all the racing was good to watch and what a neat track where you can have a race then park the bike and turn around to watch the racing as you’re fiddling with the machinery , the only downfall is the machinery gets dirty . But sidecar racing is real good fun and being able to slide most of the way round on a resonably smooth track is bliss , regardless of the position .  Have had some good feedback from competitors and public about the racing which makes us  all the happier . We now look forward to the off season for improvements and modifacations to improve the performance. Kervin can possibly lighteen the left arm with Titanium in it instead of bone and maybe attach it back at a better angle .Oh the pain but hell, sidecar racing is fun .

South Island |
Well we left Napier 3am Thursday 13th of March and arrived in Christchurch about 5pm. Had a quiet couple at the Swamp then back to Tomcats for a few more. Up in the morning and off to Invercargill geez its a long way to travel for a race meeting. Saturday morning and arrived at the track bout 11am. We had one quick practice on our new bike and were really happy with it. Finals came along and won our first 3 rides even beat 1nz in our first ride and we havn’t done that for a long time. Then came the Truuts and well they beat us fair and square. We could have hoped for a run off but we think changing from 19 inch rim to a 17 was our downfall and only got another 2nd in our last ride. Congrats to the Truut’s and hard luck to Russell & co for losing it in the run off for 2nd & 3rd. But real happy with 2nd especially since 1st real try for our new bike and what a weapon.
A few days travelling back to Christchurch then Friday at Moore Park for the short track title. We had quite a few teething problems with radiator hoses and yep we got 2nd again. Congrats to Nick & Paul they rode well even with Nicks buggered finger. Just 1 referee’s decision lost us that one [sorry Tomcat]. But the new machine is going great. So see you all at the Nth Islands in April. And also thanks for the great hospitality down south
Comments from Pilot , It was terrific fun , very enjoyable to ride on a real speedway track where you can slide all the way round and the surface has no ruts as you see in clay tracks .

New Zealand Champs |
The Gisborne speedway club certainly knows how to spoil competitors .
A terrific Track and surface throughout the weekend , thanks to Myles and the rest of workers , setting a very good standard .
It was the little things that went down well also like walking into the club rooms for drivers briefing and seeing 2 saches, 2 mugs full of lollies for all the qualifier’s and the Trophies at the end of the nite , the size and 2 for each outfit .
The competitors also I feel put on a good show for the fans. Obviously they see Speedway Sidecars as the premium event for speedway in New Zealand . We had a ball on Friday nite and Saturday nite, but better not tell too many as all of NZ will want to get on the track . Have fun racing everybody.

Greetings all , this will possibly be our last post as 2 NZ .Many thanks to G.T. you only need to look at these web sites to see the effort he has put in .1,2,3 sponsored by GT and also his enthusiasm to promote speedway sidecars.Â
At P/N for the Manawatu champs recently and had a great time,( it is fun to race at pamly) anyway the show I felt could have been better. It was obviouse the nights programe was lacking classes , only ministocks and a salon series as well as sidecars . The sidecar format I feel should have been different to put on a better show for the public , like the 16 bike format. It is a pitty that the promotor and the class rep haven’t a cristal ball to forsee the night ahead and make the necesary changes. This is only a suggestion and I do appreciate the work the rep does. The 16 bike format with top competitors and good liasion with the P/A system is very entertaining.
All the best to everyone and thanks again to our sponsers Comac and Mainjet and of course Glen Taylor. Â

Update |
We have done 3 meetings this year at Gisborne and what fun it is to race a sidecar(Don’t tell to many people ,everybody will want to do it ).This is a big thanks to the Gisborne sidecar boy’s as they have made us fell welcome , and especially Sara who does a fantastic job as sidecar rep , She has set the standard and no job is to much trouble. Also of note was an old fella by the name of Dean Miller lapping Gisy in the 15.8s on a vee2 , very impressive to watch. The v twins do sound nice when revving. As for us a few 1sts , 2nds and 3rd. Â

Winter News |
Hello sidecar fans . Apologies for not keeping you informed of the last few meetings for the 06/07 season , but that season is now over and looking forward to the 07/08 season . We are both disappionted at not going to the Gold Cup but will now focus on the coming season . Maybe the NZ Champs need more prestige.
For the coming season we will be using the same machinery as last year , I really like the hp that our engine turns out .A new machine will come into action part way through the season . It is being built not for clay tracks but for speedway tracks , so we will see how it performs .Â

Update on the G.P.
All was going reasonably well till about mid-way through qualifing (Kervin with damaged hand before we started) and then a couple of bad heats spelt dome.Finished 6th overall in a long day over many heats.Bad luck to Hand bag (broken engine). The track stayed flat but slick, the throttle cable never had any real tension applied to it.Saved heaps of fuel.Machinery was going great.
Congrats to Toby/Bondy, Mike/Simpn, Frank/Aaron.Â
